Welcome to EEE LAB!
The Energy Efficiency Engineering Laboratory
Located in the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining at Queen’s University, the EEE Lab develops innovative solutions to advance energy efficiency in high-demand industries and critical infrastructure. Our research integrates experimental investigation, numerical modeling, and risk assessment to create practical technologies that enhance efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen resilience across diverse engineering applications. Current work focuses on hydrogen integration into mining operations, renewable-energy-based artificial ground freezing to mitigate permafrost degradation in northern infrastructure, and the decarbonization and optimization of mine ventilation systems.
